Join Our Team of Volunteers
New Hampshire’s rail trails are typically maintained by a collaborative partnership of state, municipal and local non-profit volunteer organizations. Rail trails, including the Derry Rail Trail, rely heavily on local volunteers for trail maintenance and cleanup, whether it’s a “friends of” organization, garden club, company outing, snowmobile club, or town conservation commission.
You can help our local rail trail in a variety of ways. For example, you can:
- Join an organization that already volunteers to help us, like the Derry Garden Club or the Derry Village Rotary Club;
- Show up & help out on trail work or cleanup days;
- Assist us on our special event days;
- Grab some gloves and trash bags and perform your own mini cleanups;
- Encourage your employer to hold a company volunteer outing or walk at the trail (they can also be financial sponsors of the trail too!);
- Advocate for more resources, funding and attention to NH rail trails at local & statewide meetings;
- Too busy to volunteer? You can always help us with a gift.
